Arriving in Florence

Finally, on the 5th of April around midday we touched down in Florence. The weather was sunny and warm, surprisingly so since the last time we were in Italy, later in the year and further South, was far colder and damper.
After a brief taxi ride we arrived in our apartment for the next month. Our apartment is amazingly close to the centre of Florence, just a stone's throw from the Medici Chapel and a short walk to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. It is a great relief to have finally reached our destination.

In a flurry of activity after arriving we sorted ourselves out with mobile phones, internet access, tourist guides and lots of pizza.
